The New York Mets defeated the Miami Marlins on a walk-off hit by pitch. Michael Conforto was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded but appeared to stick out his padded elbow to make contact with the ball that should have resulted in a third strike ending the inning. Instead, Conforto was then awarded the base, scoring Luis Guillorme from third, and the Mets won the game 3-2.

A controversial ending gave the New York Mets a win over the Miami Marlins.
The game was tied in the bottom of the ninth with the bases loaded. Anthony Bass appeared to strike Michael Conforto out looking, but the home plate umpire Ron Kulpa ruled the baseball hit him on the arm.
The run from third came home and Conforto was credited with a walk-off hit-by-pitch.
